There is a flying tip and an acronym index at the bottom of the report for those not understanding some of the weather jargon. ;)

Good morning all you amazing Wild2fly people! Floods and more floods... Wilderness surrounds with some damage but the worst of it to the east of us - the PE area hit hard. Our prayers and thoughts go out to those suffering in these floods. Some crazy videos doing the rounds. Obviously no flying reports for Wilderness but Clive Mantle had a sweet 42km out and return from Kardoesie https://www.xcontest.org/world/en/flights/detail:cem1906/7.05.2026/11:28 and some fun flights from Hermanus - Ria managed a few k's down the range. But then elsewhere some great flights with Thomas setting a new straight line distance record for Norway - just just shy of 300km at 299.19km. https://www.xcontest.org/world/en/flights/detail:thomaslone/7.05.2026/09:00 What a great flight! I wish we could get some pics of this region. :)) 5 flights over 200km yesterday and 4 of them from Liagardane (Norway). 24 flights over 100km reported on Xconest. Alexandre managed a 150km triangle in the French Alps - it is his cover pic. This is his pics link. https://www.xcontest.org/world/en/flights/detail:AlexGignoux/7.05.2026/08:41#fd=photos Beautiful scenery. :)) Back to the Wilderness weather! That Cut of Low now SE of the country with a last bit of W to SW winds around the southern parts bringing with it a bit of rain. It clears from the west. Some showers still possible around Wilderness but these should be confined to the back mountains. Winds starting off westerly, but it will back to the SW from midday onwards. Skysight says around 5-10knots so perhaps the coastal cliffs should offer some soaring. Sedge of course looking like a better option, the floods below probably putting out of bounds for most pilots. Unless you are certain of a top landing you risk wet and mud on your gar to say the least! lol ;) Base looks nice and high around 2000ft. Hopefully things will dry out quickly so we can get back to normal flying stuff. ;) Low tide is at 13:18 and high tide around 6 hours either side of that. Sunrise was at 7:10 and setting at 17:42. Daylight of 10 hrs and 33 min! Max temps today a cold 17 degrees C in Wilderness! Have a lekker one everybody and as always, remember also to take a moment and reflect on God. :) That’s really what life is all about. (John 10:10. Rom 10:9. Eph 4:31-32.)
Todays flying tip: Practice putting down your wing to the side - it can save you getting mud or other dirt on your wing! ;)
